Artist Statement

At the heart of my artistic practice is an exploration of color, texture, and emotion—inviting quiet contemplation and mindful presence. Through abstract painting and fiber arts, I blend color seamlessly or strip it away to create moments of stillness. I want my audience to connect with the softness, fluidity, and transformation in each piece, engaging with art as both a sensory and emotional experience.

My vision is rooted in the interplay of color and form. I am drawn to ethereal palettes, hyper-blending, and the removal of color to reveal unexpected depth. In my fiber-based works, I challenge traditional perceptions of crochet and knitting, elevating these time-honored techniques into abstract compositions that balance softness and structure. Whether through the smooth transitions of paint or the tactile nature of fiber, my work is a meditation on contrast and movement.

This body of work connects to both contemporary and historical art practices, drawing from fiber artists who have redefined textile work as fine art and abstract painters who use color as a language of emotion. My fiber-based pieces expand upon my previous paintings—both guided by blending, subtraction, and softness. What once existed solely on canvas now takes on dimensional, tactile forms that invite interaction and deeper contemplation.

At its core, my art reflects my philosophy: beauty exists in both presence and absence, in blending and unraveling. I honor softness as a form of strength and embrace calm as a powerful statement. Through my work, I offer a moment of stillness—an opportunity to experience the quiet luxury of everyday beauty.
